Montez Africa Safaris – Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to travel with Montez Africa Safaris (MAS). Please take a moment to review our Terms & Conditions, which govern the contractual relationship between MAS and yourself. These terms provide important information about payments, cancellations, amendments, and more.

1. Deposits & Final Payment

  • Deposit: A 20% deposit is required upon booking to secure your tour and initiate the necessary booking processes and ground preparations. Payment instructions will be communicated via email.
  • Final Payment: The final balance is due no later than 6 weeks before the start of your tour.
  • Bookings Within 6 Weeks: If your booking is made within 6 weeks of the tour departure date, the full amount is required at the time of booking.
  • Payment Method: All payments must be made in US Dollars via bank transfer.

2. Cancellation Policy

In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your tour, please notify us in writing. The cancellation fees are as follows:

  • Note: Cancellation fees are based on the date your written cancellation notice is received by Montez Africa Safaris.

3. Amendment Policy

Montez Africa Safaris is flexible with making amendments to your safari to meet your preferences, interests, and budget. All changes must be made in writing. Depending on the requested changes, the price of your package may be adjusted accordingly.

Any amendments that incur additional costs will be communicated to you before proceeding with the changes.

4. Price Changes

Prices for MAS packages are subject to change due to factors such as:

  • Government regulations and policies
  • Increased Park fees
  • Government taxes or other unforeseen costs

If any changes occur, the additional cost will be passed onto the client.

5. Luggage

  • All luggage and personal effects are the responsibility of the client. MAS does not accept liability for any loss or damage to personal belongings while in international transit.
  • Luggage Limits: Clients are allowed to bring one bag with a maximum weight of 23kg (backpack or soft bag, no hard-top suitcases). MAS reserves the right to refuse excess baggage.
  • In the event your luggage is lost in transit, MAS will assist in retrieving it and arranging delivery to your hotel upon its arrival.

6. Client Responsibility

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the following:

  • Travel documents such as passports, visas, and vaccination certificates are valid and certified prior to departure.
  • Flights are booked and confirmed, and pre-booking procedures are properly completed.

MAS will not issue a credit or refund if the client fails to prepare the necessary documents before or upon arrival in Tanzania.

MAS is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal belongings, documents, tickets, (credit) cards, money, or any other valuables while in your possession.

7. Risks

Montez Africa Safaris will not be held responsible for any injury, calamity, damage, dissatisfaction, or any other harmful event (material or immaterial) to the client’s travel experience while on safari, especially if the client does not follow the directions, protocols, rules, or guidelines provided by the MAS guide or staff.

MAS will not be liable for any incidents occurring at accommodations or during the safari.
